Requirements
- A Grade 12 or equivalent qualification with computer literacy subjects or an additional computer literacy certificate.
- Prior administrative experience in a healthcare facility will be an advantage.
- Willingness to work shifts in accordance with the requirements of the unit.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Demonstrate courteous and effective telephone etiquette
- Basic knowledge of a Patient administration system would be an advantage.
- Competence in record keeping and data capturing
- Knowledge of stock control principles would be an advantage
- Basic competence of office management and compliment and complaints management would be an advantage.
- Maintains respectful work relationships and interpersonal effectiveness.
- Displays a team approach by participating actively and cooperatively with team members.
- Good accuracy and attention to detail.
- The ability to plan and organize to ensure that work is completed in an efficient manner.
- Maintains a customer-focused mindset that acknowledges the value of the customer.
- Exhibits full responsibility for own work outputs.
Key Outputs
- Responsible for all unit related administration which includes management of the telephone, stationery, linen, stock, equipment and filing.
- Ensures assistance with patient related administrative functions.
- Maintains control of pharmaceutical stock.
- Delivers a reception service to the unit.
- Quality client care principles maintained.
