Requirements

  • A Grade 12 or equivalent qualification with computer literacy subjects or an additional computer literacy certificate.
  • Prior administrative experience in a healthcare facility will be an advantage.
  • Willingness to work shifts in accordance with the requirements of the unit.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrate courteous and effective telephone etiquette
  • Basic knowledge of a Patient administration system would be an advantage.
  • Competence in record keeping and data capturing
  • Knowledge of stock control principles would be an advantage
  • Basic competence of office management and compliment and complaints management would be an advantage.
  • Maintains respectful work relationships and interpersonal effectiveness.
  • Displays a team approach by participating actively and cooperatively with team members.
  • Good accuracy and attention to detail.
  • The ability to plan and organize to ensure that work is completed in an efficient manner.
  • Maintains a customer-focused mindset that acknowledges the value of the customer.
  • Exhibits full responsibility for own work outputs.

Key Outputs

  • Responsible for all unit related administration which includes management of the telephone, stationery, linen, stock, equipment and filing.
  • Ensures assistance with patient related administrative functions.
  • Maintains control of pharmaceutical stock.
  • Delivers a reception service to the unit.
  • Quality client care principles maintained.
